NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2011 BUDGET

The City of Wimberley City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2011 City of Wimberley Budget at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Wimberley City Hall, 221 Stillwater, Wimberley, Texas. A copy of the proposed budget can be viewed on the finance page of this website. In addition, copies of the proposed budget are available for review at Wimberley City Hall and at the Wimberley Village Library located at 400 FM 2325. Call 512-847-0025 for more information.    

EARLY VOTING STARTS SEPTEMBER 1ST FOR SPECIAL PLACE 2 CITY COUNCIL ELECTION

Voters in Wimberley will be heading back to the polls on Saturday, September 18, 2010, to decide who will fill the Place 2 position on the Wimberley City Council. Details on the special election can be found on the Place 2 Special Election tab to the left on this home page. 

WIMBERLEY WEB SITE UPGRADE UNDERWAY

The Wimberley Economic Development Commission is winding down its work on a project to revise the City of Wimberley Web Site. The Commission is considering several proposed modifications to the content of the site. BLUE HOLE TO BE OPEN WEEKENDS ONLY FROM NOW UNTIL LABOR DAY

With the new school year about to begin, the Blue Hole Regional Park is revising its operating hours. The Park will be open weekends only effective Sunday, August 15th.  The operating hours will remain 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The Park will close for the season after Labor Day.

WIMBERLEY CITY COUNCIL APPROVES FISCAL YEAR 2010 OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE CITY

The City of Wimberley Council has approved a $1.12 million General Fund Budget for the City for Fiscal Year 2010. The approved spending plan includes more than $250,000 for road and sidewalk improvements in the community. The view the FY 2010 City Budget, please click on the Finance section on the left.   

CITIZENS HEAR UPDATE ON WASTEWATER PROJECT

Residents and business operators attended an important community meeting on January 28th relating to the City's efforts to develop a wastewater system in Wimberley. To view the power point presentation from the meeting, click on the Wastewater Project Update link below.

CITY  ADOPTS  ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

The Wimberley Economic Development Commission has completed work on a proposed Economic Development Strategy for the City. A copy of the strategy and appendices can be found below in the document library. The strategy was approved was adopted by City Council on Thursday, November 6, 2008.

TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN IN PLACE

The Wimberley City Council recently adopted a Transportation Master Plan for the Village of Wimberley. The plan was prepared by members of the Wimberley Transportation Advisory Board, recommended by the Wimberley Planning and Zoning Commission and approved by the Wimberley City Council. LONG TERM WATER NEEDS EXAMINED 

The Wimberley Valley Water Issues (WVWI) Subcommittee completed a series of seven public meetings on Wimberley Valley water issues.

Meeting topics included aquifer science and recharge, Cypress Creek watershed protection, major Wimberley Valley water suppliers’ operations and plans, water related demographics and regulatory authority matrix.  Presentations were made by Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, Wimberley Valley Watershed Association, Friends of Blue Hole, Wimberley Water Supply Corporation, AquaTexas Inc., Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer Conservation District, River Systems Institute at Texas State University, and others.
